Kepier were delighted today to host a skipping festival for primary school children from across the region, organised by our School Games Organiser Dave Birch and Chris Corcoran from Skipping School Ltd.
This event, as well as being lots of fun for all those taking part, is a wonderful way for children to engage in physical activity and get fit. Around 150 children took part, and this was the first of seven events taking place over the next ten days in Sunderland and Washington, by which time over 1000 children will have enjoyed participating.
Chris said "for the eighth year running, I continue to be amazed with the continuing increase in skill levels and all round fun aspect of this project. The winners today were Easington Lane Primary School, who now go through to the city final on Friday 9th June at the CitySpace Sports Hall on Chester Road."
