When collecting your child please park with consideration to residents, pedestrians and other road users. A camera van from Sunderland City Council will be in the area and can issue on the spot fines.

Tonibeth and Chloe
The thoughts and prayers of all at Kepier are with Tonibeth’s and Chloe’s parents,
grandparents, wider family and friends at this tragic time of loss.
Tonibeth attended Kepier from 2010 until February this year and then moved to Washington.
“We are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss two beautiful children and our condolences
are given to both families. Tonibeth was a lovely young lady and her brave actions to save
her friend will never be forgotten.” Principal, Kepier, Nicky Cooper,
She had settled into school life at Washington very well and had already made a good and
close group of friends. Her teachers and pastoral staff speak of a quiet and caring young
lady who had a most promising future and who was looking forward to achieving a broad
suite of qualifications.
"Tonibeth was a lovely girl and a valued member of our community. There is a very palpable
sense of loss at school this morning.” Executive Head Teacher, Washington School, Mr
John Hallworth
“I am sure the thoughts of everyone in our community is with the families at this very
difficult time, and I would like to express our deepest sympathy at their loss." The Leader of
Sunderland City Council, Councillor Paul Watson
For parents who are concerned over the summer break please contact your GP if you have
significant concerns about wellbeing. However it is equally important for parents/ carers to
understand that grieving is a normal process and the resource below maybe some help to
you.
www.cruse.org.uk and their website RD4U is for young people and gives advice on coping

Talented Poet - Jordan Smith Y8 JNH
School
School is something
We all must embrace
Knowledge we need
To seek out and chase
Subjects and teaching
styles
Are plentiful and vary
Just like the back packs
We all must carry
Sports clubs and
activities
At every single turn
So much to do
So much to learn
To get the most from
school
We should constantly
attend
Around each corner
There’s always a friend
Out favourite teachers
Are friendly and kind
Their passion and job
To expand every mind
School is something
We all must embrace
Just remember to learn
And push our own pace
Jordan Smith Y8 JNH
